Will they cry of disenfranchisement?

Iraqi elections are 3 days away. In a video last week, OBL's #1 homeboy in Iraq had this to say:
... a speaker identifying himself as Abu Musab al-Zarqawi — the leader of Iraq's al-Qaida affiliate — condemned the election, branding candidates as "demi-idols" and saying those who vote for them "are infidels" — a clear threat to the safety of all those who participate in the balloting.

"We have declared a fierce war on this evil principle of democracy and those who follow this wrong ideology," the speaker said in an audiotape posted Sunday on an Islamic Web site. "Anyone who tries to help set up this system is part of it."
Militant Islam hates us for what we are, not what we do. To a man determined for a global totalitarian Muslim state, democracy = evil.

Dwarfing US election turnout, 75% of Iraq is expected to vote. Many of them risk actual disenfranshisement - the kind where you get shot, hung, blown up or tortured - for voting. While the Democrats' only act on their own false disenfranshisement alarms, some brave Iraqis will likely be killed for exercising their newly found freedom.

Make no mistake. No matter how much violence punctuates Sunday's stories from Iraq, the election is the success.
